     The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, is located at 110/5 Moo 3, Kanchanavanich Road, Hat Yai, Songkhla. The faculty serves as an Institute for Advanced Studies in the field of Pharmacy with implementation of programs of undergraduate and higher. In 1978, it was established as the first institution of higher learning in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the southern region.

     At its founding, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences began drafting a plan to include various departments and subjects. This planning period began on June 1, 1978 and lasted for 6 months. Prince of Songkla University requested help in drafting the project from Asst. Prof. Dr. Sunalinee Nikrothanonta of Chulalongkorn University. 

     The faculty was first established as part of the Center of Medical Sciences, Prince of Songkla University. The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences was officially established on December 26, 1978 following the publication in the Gazette. The Council appointed Asst. Prof. Dr. Sunalinee Nikrothanonta as the first dean of the faculty. Student applications were first accepted for the 1979 school year, offering a Doctor of Pharmacy (Bachelor’s Degree). The first class had 19 students.
